KAMPONG SPEU PROVINCE, Cambodia (July 31, 2012) - World Vets volunteer veterinarian Eilidh Hawkins, center, explains lymph node placement and behavior on a cow to local Cambodian veterinarians July 31. The informal session is part of a veterinary civic qction project that is being conducted in the Kampong Speu Province by a team of military and volunteer veterinary specialists from the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH-19). Along with informal teaching sessions, the team focuses on subject matter expert exchange with local veterinarian and animal health education and treatment. Mercy is participating in Pacific Partnership, an annual U.S. Pacific Fleet humanitarian and civic assistance mission now in its seventh year that brings together U.S. military personnel, host and partner nations, non-government organizations and international agencies to build stronger relationships and develop disaster response capabilities throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
